September 10, 2026 — vivo has published a photography comparison between its X300 FE and the iPhone 17, using photos captured under the same conditions and presented without filters or post-processing.
The comparison focuses on differences in color reproduction, detail, dynamic range, zoom performance, and portrait rendering. According to vivo, the test was intended to show how the two smartphones handle different photography scenarios.
Color and texture comparison
One part of the comparison examines how the phones reproduce colors and fine textures in a still-life scene.
vivo says the X300 FE uses ZEISS color tuning to distinguish between similar tones, including amber and terracotta, while retaining texture in a beige canvas.
The company also says the phone is designed to avoid excessive color saturation when processing images.
A second example uses red lanterns, where vivo highlights the X300 FE’s handling of highly saturated colors. According to the company, details on the lantern surfaces and golden caps remain visible while the colors retain their intensity.
50MP telephoto camera and zoom
The comparison also includes a mist-covered city skyline, which tests how the cameras handle differences in brightness between the sky, buildings, and distant objects.
The vivo X300 FE features a 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto camera with 3x, 10x, and 20x zoom. vivo says the camera is designed to retain detail in distant subjects, including building and window-frame details, while preserving information in darker areas.

Portrait photography
For portrait shots, the X300 FE uses an 85mm-equivalent focal length alongside portrait-processing algorithms.
vivo says the system is designed to balance skin tones, subject texture, and background separation. The company also highlights details in hair and clothing while aiming to limit the use of heavy beautification effects.
