MANILA, PHILIPPINES – After months of intense competition across multiple qualifying legs, the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge Year 4 concluded on July 12 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, where Queenpin Basketball and Montero Hoops claimed the Women’s and Men’s division championships, respectively.
Now in its fourth year, the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge continues to strengthen grassroots basketball in the Philippines by giving both aspiring and experienced athletes a national platform to compete, gain valuable exposure, and showcase their talent.
The tournament concluded with exciting championship matchups, as the winning teams earned championship trophies, medals, cash prizes of up to Php 30,000, and vivo smartphones, including the latest vivo V70.
Queenpin Basketball shines in Women's Division
Queenpin Basketball asserted its dominance in the Women’s Division Finals, defeating QP 3×3, 21-10, in a convincing performance to clinch the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge Year 4 championship.
For claiming the Women’s Division championship, Queenpin Basketball took home Php 30,000 in cash along with a brand-new vivo V70. QP 3×3 secured the first runner-up honors, earning Php 20,000 and a vivo V70 FE, while Uratex Dream finished as second runner-up and received Php 15,000 and a vivo Y31d. Kengs Basketball Team completed the top four, taking home Php 10,000 and a vivo Y05.

For Queenpin veteran Nic Cancio, the biggest victory wasn’t just bringing home the championship, it was seeing women’s basketball receive the recognition it deserves. “I am very happy, not just for the experience but really for the spotlight that it gives to women’s basketball and to women in sport. I am very happy with this kind of opportunity. It’s my first time joining vivo 3×3 and I hope it won’t be the last,” she shared.
As the team’s veteran and oldest player, Cancio said the tournament tested more than just her physical endurance. It also reinforced the value of teamwork, trust, and believing in one another throughout the competition.
“I’m not gonna lie, it really challenged me. I’m 30 years old, I’m the eldest in my team, but it challenged me not just to think about my physical limits but beyond that. It challenged me to help my teammates shine, to believe in ourselves, and to believe in our team, ” Cancio added.
Years of persistence pay off for Montero Hoops
The Men’s Division Finals produced one of the tournament’s most exciting contests, with Montero Hoops narrowly defeating Taho Story MFTG Corporation, 20-19, to capture the championship title.
For winning the Men’s Division championship, Montero Hoops took home Php 30,000 in cash along with a brand-new vivo V70. Taho Story MFTG Corporation secured the first runner-up spot, earning Php 20,000 and a vivo V70 FE. Taho Story finished as second runner-up and received Php 15,000 and a vivo Y31d, while SMG Kings rounded out the top four with Php 10,000 and a vivo Y05.

For Jerick Fabian, lifting the vivo 3×3 Basketball Challenge championship trophy marked the culmination of years of hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance. Returning to the tournament with a singular goal, Fabian and Montero Hoops finally achieved their dream of becoming champions.
“Happy and blessed kasi ilang years na namin pinagpaguran ito. Yearly sumasali kami and ngayon nakuha na namin, so napakasaya. Lalo na yung exposure dito, napakaganda,” he said.
