August 31, 2026 — G.SKILL has introduced the Flare X5X series, a new line of DDR5 desktop memory featuring support for AMD EXPO Technology: Featuring Ultra Low Latency (EXPO ULL).
The initial configuration is a 32GB kit consisting of two 16GB modules, rated at DDR5-6000 with CL36-36-36-76 timings. The memory is designed for systems using compatible AMD processors, motherboards, and BIOS versions.
AMD EXPO ULL adds tuned memory timings
The main feature of the Flare X5X series is support for AMD EXPO ULL.
According to G.SKILL, the profile adds additional memory sub-timing settings compared with existing G.SKILL DDR5 kits that support standard AMD EXPO. These settings are intended to improve latency performance while maintaining the same memory speed.
Users with compatible AMD hardware can enable the EXPO ULL memory profile through the system BIOS. The feature requires a compatible AMD CPU, motherboard, and supported BIOS version.

The initial Flare X5X specification is rated at:

The advertised EXPO specification requires BIOS adjustments and compatible system hardware.
At default BIOS settings, compatible memory kits will initially boot at their SPD speed before an EXPO profile is enabled.
G.SKILL also notes that the maximum memory speed and performance can vary depending on system components, including the CPU and motherboard.
This means the DDR5-6000 specification should not be treated as a guaranteed operating speed for every compatible system.

G.SKILL says the Flare X5X series will be released in markets worldwide in phases.
