September 9, 2026 — vivo is offering refurbished smartphones in the Philippines as an alternative to buying brand-new devices or ordinary second-hand phones.
According to vivo, its refurbished units undergo inspection, cleaning, and necessary repairs by its customer service professionals before being offered for resale. The company says the process is intended to distinguish the devices from phones that are simply resold without refurbishment or professional inspection.
How vivo refurbished phones are processed
The refurbished devices may come from phones previously used by KOLs or ambassadors, as well as store display and demo units.
After being returned, the devices undergo inspection, cleaning, and necessary repair before being relisted for sale. vivo describes this process as different from ordinary second-hand sales, where a device may be resold without undergoing the same refurbishment procedure.
The program gives consumers another option when considering a vivo smartphone at a lower cost than a new unit. The company also provides warranty coverage for its refurbished devices.
Two types of refurbished vivo phones
vivo currently classifies its refurbished phones into two categories:
- Pre-owned (LDU) — Older demo or ex-display units that have been refurbished for resale. These devices and their packaging carry a “Pre-owned” label, while the product code includes a two-digit suffix.
- Near New — Units returned within 15 days and subsequently refurbished for resale. These devices and their packaging carry a “Near New” label, while the product code includes a one-digit suffix.
One-year warranty and coverage details
Refurbished vivo phones come with a standard one-year warranty, although the warranty start date depends on the unit’s classification and whether proof of purchase is available.
For units purchased with proof of purchase, the warranty starts from the purchase date shown on the receipt.
For Pre-owned units without proof of purchase, vivo determines the warranty start date based on the device’s IMEI binding, activation, or sold date.
For Near New units without proof of purchase, the warranty starts on the 90th day after the production date, in accordance with vivo’s warranty policy.
Refurbished models currently available
vivo says consumers in the Philippines can currently find refurbished versions of the vivo X300 FE and vivo X300 Ultra through its refurbished program.
The company says refurbished units can be accessed through its official website by going to the e-store, selecting products, and choosing refurbished phones. They can also be purchased through a vivo Store by selecting the shop section and then refurbished phones.
What consumers should consider
Refurbished smartphones can provide an alternative for buyers who want to spend less than the price of a new device. However, the condition, classification, warranty start date, and available documentation can differ between units.
For vivo’s program, the Pre-owned and Near New classifications provide information about the device’s previous use, while the warranty policy outlines how coverage is determined depending on the unit and proof of purchase.
Consumers considering a refurbished unit should check its classification, warranty details, and purchase documentation before completing a transaction.
