September 8, 2026 — Phanteks has launched its EX5 series of PC cases, introducing a compartmentalized internal layout that separates key components into dedicated areas for airflow management.
The EX5 is the first chassis lineup under Phanteks’ new EX Series. It was first shown at Computex 2026 and consists of three configurations: the EX5, EX5 PLUS, and EX5 MAX.
Compartmentalized internal design
Unlike conventional PC cases that place most components in a shared interior space, the EX5 separates key hardware into dedicated chambers.
Phanteks says the layout is designed to direct fresh air toward individual components while moving heated air away from surrounding hardware. A rear-mounted mainboard fan provides airflow toward the VRM and RAM areas and helps direct heat generated by the graphics card away from nearby components.
The company also says the design can reduce the need for additional case fans. However, the actual cooling and noise performance will depend on the installed hardware, fan configuration, ambient temperature, and other system conditions.
Hardware compatibility and connectivity
The EX5 lineup supports graphics cards up to 358mm in length and provides support for 360mm radiators across all three configurations.
The cases also include space for cable management and integrated ARGB lighting. Lighting can be synchronized through compatible motherboards or through Phanteks’ optional NEXLINQ ecosystem.
For connectivity, the EX5 series includes a 20Gbps USB Type-C port along with two USB 3.0 ports. A built-in GPU bracket is also included to help keep the graphics card secured during transportation.
EX5, EX5 PLUS and EX5 MAX
The standard EX5 is the base configuration and allows users to select their own AIO liquid-cooling solution. It comes with a pre-installed rear mainboard fan.
The EX5 PLUS adds a pre-installed Glacier One 360S25-SE AIO. Its tubing is concealed within the chassis, while the included S25 ARGB fan assembly uses a single cable connection.
The EX5 MAX uses the same integrated Glacier One 360S25-SE cooling system and adds a 6-inch high-resolution display for system monitoring and customizable visuals.
The Glacier One 360S25-SE is also planned as a standalone cooling product.
