MANILA, PHILIPPINES — vivo is preparing to introduce the vivo V80 in the Philippines, with the smartphone set to feature a new Starwish Purple colorway inspired by the appearance of a galaxy.
The finish uses vivo’s Laser Holographic Lithography technology to create what the company calls a True 3D Stellar Design. The layered effect produces shimmering patterns and changing reflections as light reaches the back cover from different angles.
Starwish Purple uses a holographic finish
The Starwish Purple variant is designed around a reflective finish that changes depending on the surrounding light.
According to vivo, the effect can appear differently under sunlight, indoor lighting, and city lights. The company says the finish is intended to give the phone a distinctive visual appearance while also adding a design element to everyday photos.
The design is particularly positioned by vivo toward Gen Z users who use fashion, accessories, and social media as forms of personal expression.
V80 gets a new glass design
The design changes extend beyond the color option.
The vivo V80 features an upgraded one-piece cold-carved glass build. vivo says the surface is designed to provide a silky-smooth feel while remaining comfortable to hold.
The glass surface is also described as resistant to dust buildup, while a floating camera module adds definition to the rear design and complements the layered finish.
