Samsung S10 series officially unpacked

Samsung unveils the Samsung S10 series for their 10th Galaxy line up. They added some outstanding features that will make you want to upgrade from your Samsung Galaxy S9. Launched in San Franciso, giving us a more powerful and functional smartphone.

Inside the Box

Inside the box that was presented to us was the charging block, charging cable, an OTG adapter and sim ejector. Since this is not yet the retails sample or retail box, we have yet to see if it will include a set of earphones.

Initial feel of the Samsung S10 is reminiscent of the Samsung Note series giving us 3 different sizes from 5.8″ of the S10E to 6.4″ for the Samsung S10+. They were able to maximize the Infinity Display by giving 90% screen-to-body ratio with a lighter profile. One of the things we loved about it is that they were able to implement a screen protector to the Samsung S10 devices out of the box.

We see the usual type-c port on the bottom along with the 3.5mm jack for your earphones. Despite Samsung’s push for their Bluetooth earbuds, it’s still a great move by them to give their users the choice of using wired earphones.

Dynamic AMOLED

In addition, an upgrade has been given to the Samsung S10 and S10+ devices. An enhancement called the Dynamic AMOLED display giving more accurate color, low-gradation dithering algorithm. In other words, the technology reduces the color differences from the original image source and the displayed image.

On-Screen Fingerprint Scanner

Side-by-side with the Mate 20 Pro

With the recent news of Samsung’s onscreen fingerprint scanner, we were able to test the new function giving us a more responsive unlock system compared to the Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro. Samsung explains that the technology used was ultrasonic instead of optical. Simply put, this removes the possibility of recreating your fingerprint via digital means and unlocking your phone. Although, one thing we’d like to test is if it would still function with tempered glass on.

A relative upgrade was done to the Samsung S10 series with an addition of a third camera at the rear for the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Samsung Galaxy S10+. On the other hand, only two for the Samsung Galaxy S10e. On the front side, Samsung adds an additional camera for depth on the S10+.

Wireless PowerShare

Samsung has come up with their own version of the Wireless Reverse Charging. We were able to charge our Samsung Galaxy Gear with just the wireless charing capabilities of the Samsung Galaxy S10. This will be a must for those Samsung lovers that even have the Galaxy buds!
