Huawei continues to beef up their smartphone line with the introduction of the new Mate X during the Mobile World Congress 2019 in Barcelona, Spain. This is also their first foldable 5G phone which equips the powerful yet efficient Kirin 980 processor, 8GB of RAM and 4,500 mAH battery.
The total measurement of the entire display is at 8-inch (8:7.1, 2480 x 2200). When folded, the main screen turns into 6.6-inch (19.5:9 aspect ratio, 2480 x 1148 resolution) while the rear display is at 6.4-inch (25:9, 2480 x 892). This kind of innovation was made possible by OLED panels since its light-omitting layers are flexible and lighter compared to regular LEDs. Of all these great features of Mate X, one thing that caught my attention is its charging capability, it can support 55 up to 65W which enables it to charge even laptops with U-series processors via USB Type-C. Imagine the portability of this charger for both devices! Estimate pricing for PH is at around Php131,467.00 and is targeted to be released by Q3 2019.
Powered by Next-Generation 5G Modem Chipset
Equipped with the world’s first 7nm 5G multi-mode modem chipset Balong 5000, the chipset has unprecedented 5G download speeds, at 4.6Gps on the Sub-6GHz band (theoretical). Balong 5000 is also the world’s first chipset to support both SA and NSA architectures, users will not need a device upgrade to continue enjoying 5G connectivity. The HUAWEI Mate X’s dual SIM feature supports both 4G and 5G.
