Rage Art is the Philippines’ Biggest Tekken Tournament Ever

Rage Art, A Tekken 7 Launch Tournament, the biggest Tekken Tournament in the Philippines to date, happened last June 3, 2017 at Playbook eSports Lounge at Circuit Makati. Hosted and organized by Team Spooky and Playbook in partnership with SplitmediaLabs, the event was attended by more than 200 fighting game enthusiast, pro players and media. The whole day event was nothing but hype.

An initial PHP 50,000 prize pool was announced, thanks to XSplit, Player.Me, Challonge, and Twitch. As the tournament progressed viewers of Team Spooky’s Twitch channel donated via Matcherino, a crowdfunding website, totaling a final prize pool of a whopping Php100,000.00.

More than 160 players registered to play in the tournament including local  Pro Players such as  “PBE. AK” Alexander Lavarez, and Korea’s Echo Fox JDCR and Echo Fox Saint.

The event was streamed live on Twitch via Team Spooky and on Facebook by Rappler Philippines. It was well received by the audience gathering unique viewership with over 92k+ on Team Spooky’s Twitch channel and 362k+ on Rappler’s facebook page (450,000+ viewership in total). Rage Art gathered noise on Twitter having 55M+ impressions globally.

Winners of the event received a trophy, medals and plaques on top of the cash prize pool. Echo Fox JDCR was hailed Champion, followed by PBE.Doujin on 2nd place, PBE.AK on 3rd, Echo Fox Saint on 4th. Tied on 5th were Coffee_Prinz & Prime, while tied on 7th were IPT.EI & Noelittle.
