Zenfone Live Review: Bringing BeautyLive in Your Livestreams

Few weeks ago, ASUS released a new smartphone in the budget segment. The new Zenfone Live features a “BeautyLive app” which you can use while you livestream on Facebook and Youtube. It costs for just under 10,000 pesos which is pretty impressive despite of what it can bring to selfie lovers on a tight budget. Read on below for our full review.

Build

The 5-inch smartphone features a plastic body that looks like a metal on first glance. It is the lightest mobile device that I tried at just 120g yet it is pretty solid and comfortable to hold with just one hand. Looking at the parts of the Zenfone Live is pretty much the same compared to other Zenfone models, the capacitive buttons still doesn’t light up which is a let down. At the top you can locate its 5MP camera with flash and the 3.5mm audio jack.

On the right side are the volume rockers and the power button while on the left is the sim card tray that supports dual NANO sim cards (the sim 2 tray can be used as a microSD card tray that can support up to 256GB).

For charging, it still uses the old micro USB port, it doesn’t support fast charging but to power up its battery size of just 2650mAh can already give  you enough time to juice up your phone.

Performance

Specs of Zenfone Live

Inside this phone is a quad core Snapdragon 410 processor which is already old but can still get the job done. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, 9GB are usable as the remaining memory is used for system files. The good thing tho is that it is already Android 6.0.1 from out of the box, the app drawer is snappy without signs of lags. In terms of gaming you must be ready of what it can only do. Games such as NBA 2K17 seems to perform poorly on this device but perhaps puzzle games and other light-sized games can entertain you instead.

AnTuTu Benchmark Score of Zenfone Live

On the camera department, the Zenfone Live sports a 13MP shooter with f2.0 aperture lens. Shots taken by this device are decent but you can notice some over saturated colors especially when taken from outside. For the front camera it has a 5MP with beauty enhancement features for selfies and even for livestreams.

Livestream with BeautyLive app:

Calls and texts are fine, I haven’t experience any disconnection or poor voice quality while talking to someone. The sound that the Zenfone Live produces are good enough while watching movies and listening on your favorite music.

The Zenfone Live is one of the best phones on its price segment, at just P6,995 you can take full advantage of having a great camera phone with BeautyLive app on your livestreams plus a great design and aesthetics without hurting your pocket.
